Every slow drain starts the same way: hair goes down, catches on something, and collects everything after it. This sits inside the drain and catches it at the top, where you can actually deal with it.
How it works
Press once to fill. Press again to drain.
A spring-loaded bounce core, so it works as a plug and a filter in the same fitting. Push it down and the basin holds water. Push again and it pops up to drain — through a stainless mesh basket that keeps hair, grit and the occasional earring out of your pipes.
Lift the whole core out with two fingers, tip the basket into the bin, drop it back in. No tools, no drain cleaner, no plumber.
Catches before it clogs
The mesh basket sits at the top of the drain, so blockages form where you can reach them.
Blocks the smell
Closed, it seals the opening — useful in bathrooms where odour drifts back up an empty trap.

Will it fit?
Measure once before you order
It suits most standard US bathroom basins — the ones with a round drain opening and no built-in pop-up rod. Approximate dimensions: 65 mm / 2.56 in across the top flange, 22 mm / 0.87 in body.
Take a tape measure to the drain opening first. If your basin has a lever-operated stopper linked to a rod behind the tap, that has to come out before this will seat properly.
Not for kitchen sinks, bathtubs or shower drains — different diameters entirely.

How often do I clean it?
Once a week in a bathroom two people share, less if it is a guest basin. It takes about ten seconds — lift, tip, replace.
Does it slow the water down?
A little, by design — water passes through mesh rather than an open hole. If it starts draining noticeably slowly, that is the filter telling you it is full.
Do I need tools or sealant?
No. It drops into the existing drain opening. Nothing is glued and nothing is permanent, so it comes out again when you move.
Single or 2-pack?
Most homes have more than one basin. The 2-pack works out $10 cheaper than buying twice.
