Squeeze, and it lets go
A round scoop that actually leaves the spoon.
Everyone owns the flat spoon that turns ice cream into a smear, or the solid scoop where the ball welds itself to the metal and you end up scraping it off with a finger. This is the version with a lever: you squeeze the handle, a thin steel blade sweeps the inside of the bowl, and the ball drops out whole. Same mechanism a bakery uses to portion cookie dough — which is most of why it works on ice cream too.

Three sizes
The number that matters is the ball, not the handle
The three sizes are only 1.5 cm apart in total length — the real difference is the diameter of the bowl, and that is what decides the size of the ball you get.
S — 4.5 cm (1.8 in) bowl. Small enough for melon balls, truffles and one-bite cookies.
M — 5 cm (2.0 in) bowl. The everyday scoop — a normal single scoop of ice cream, a standard cupcake, a meatball.
L — 5.5 cm (2.2 in) bowl. A generous scoop, mashed potato, muffin batter.
If you only want one, take the M. If you bake as well as serve dessert, the three-size set is the reason this tool exists.
How the lever works
One press, and the ball releases itself
Press the lever at the top of the handle and a flat steel sweep travels around the inside of the bowl, breaking the suction that normally holds the scoop in. Release, and a spring returns it. Nothing to unscrew, nothing to wash separately.
The rim of the bowl is thin rather than rolled, so it cuts into the surface instead of skating across it. The bowl is a smooth curve with no seam for dough or ice cream to lodge in.

Not only dessert
Anything soft enough to hold a round shape
Cookie dough in even portions so the tray bakes evenly. Cupcake and muffin batter without the drips down the side of the liner. Meatballs the same size so they cook through at the same time. Melon and mango balls for a fruit platter. Mashed potato, rice, tuna salad, sorbet.
It is a portioning tool that happens to be sold as an ice cream scoop. That is the honest description of it.
Before you buy
Four things we would rather you knew now
It is not heated, and it is not a magic wand. There is no fluid in the handle and no warming element. Ice cream straight out of a −18 °C freezer is genuinely hard, and this scoop will need arm strength on it like any other. Let the tub sit out for five minutes and the tool does the rest easily. Anything advertised as cutting through rock-hard ice cream without effort is overselling.
We hand-wash it, and we suggest you do too. The lever runs on a small spring inside a pivot. Our supplier does not publish a dishwasher rating, so we are not going to print one. Rinse it, dry the spring area, and it will not seize.
The steel grade is not specified. The manufacturer states stainless steel and nothing more — no 304 or 430 marking. We have asked. Until we get an answer in writing, we are not putting a grade on this page.
We do not know the bowl volume in ml or oz. Bakers often want a fluid measure; the supplier only publishes the bowl diameter, so diameter is all you will find here. We would rather leave a gap than invent a number.

Which pack
Every pack says exactly what is inside it
3 pcs · S + M + L is one of each size. 3 pcs · M + M + M is three identical mediums — which is what you want if you are portioning a whole tray at once and do not want to stop and rinse between scoops.
We rewrote every option label for this reason. The original listing just said “3pcs M” and left you to guess.
Price per scoop
Buying more than one lowers the price per scoop
Same tool, same steel — the only thing that changes is how much each one costs you.
| Pack |
Price per scoop |
| One scoop — S, M or L |
full price |
| Any 2 pcs pack — two matched, or M + L |
about a fifth less each |
| Any 3 pcs pack — three matched, or one of each |

Not sure which one
Three honest ways to choose
You only want one scoop → take the M (5 cm bowl). It is the size that gives a normal single scoop of ice cream and a standard cupcake. If you have no particular use in mind, this is the one.
You want the lowest price per scoop → 3 pcs · S + S + S. Three identical smalls is the cheapest per-scoop option on this page. Worth it if you portion cookie dough or truffles in batches and want to fill a tray without rinsing between rows.
You want the set that covers everything → 3 pcs · S + M + L. One of each bowl size, so you are not stuck with the wrong diameter halfway through a recipe. It is not the cheapest per scoop — the three-smalls pack is — but it is the one we would keep in our own drawer.
Good to know
Questions people ask
Will it cut through ice cream straight from the freezer?
It will, with effort — the thin rim helps — but you will be pushing. There is no heated core and no anti-freeze fluid in this handle. Five minutes on the counter first turns it into an easy job. We would rather say that than promise something the tool cannot do.
Is it dishwasher safe?
We do not know, and we are not going to guess. The manufacturer publishes no dishwasher rating, and the lever sits on a small internal spring that we would not want sitting wet through a long drying cycle. Hand wash and dry the pivot.
Which size is a “normal” scoop of ice cream?
M, with a 5 cm bowl. S gives a small tasting-size ball or a melon ball; L gives a generous restaurant-style scoop. If you are buying one and cannot decide, buy M.
Does “3 pcs · M + M + M” really mean three of the same size?
Yes. Matched packs are three identical scoops; only 3 pcs · S + M + L gives you one of each. We renamed every option to say exactly what is in it, because the original listing did not.
Can it go in the dough as well as the freezer?
Yes — cookie dough is what this mechanism was designed around. The lever sweep is what gives you even portions, which is the difference between a tray that bakes evenly and one where the small ones burn.
Will the lever rust or stick?
The parts are stainless steel, so ordinary kitchen use should not rust them. Sticking comes from sugar or dough drying inside the pivot — rinse it soon after use rather than leaving it in the sink overnight, and it stays smooth.
Is this a brand-name scoop?
No. It is an unbranded factory model, BJL001, and we sell it as that. There is no brand warranty behind it — only our own 30-day return window.
