Tie it down, then tidy it up
A normal ratchet strap leaves you holding three metres of slack. This one takes it back. The spool inside pulls the excess webbing in on its own, so what you're left with is a tight strap and a clean tail.
The same thing happens at the end of the job — unhook, press, and it reels itself into a bundle small enough to drop in a door pocket.

The bit that matters
A reinforced stopper, not a bare slot
Cheap tighteners run the webbing over a raw metal edge. It chews the strap and locks you into one pull angle. This ratchet uses a reinforced stopper instead — the webbing feeds cleanly and you can change the angle of pull without fraying it.
Steel ratchet mechanism, high-strength polyester webbing, and a moulded housing that keeps grit out of the spool.

Two housings, one length
Every strap runs 330 cm / 10.8 ft on 25 mm / 1 in polyester webbing. The difference is the ratchet body: the compact housing tucks into tighter anchor points, the full-size one gives you more leverage in the hand.

What comes in the box?
One retractable ratchet strap in the colour and housing size you choose — 330 cm of 25 mm webbing with a coated S-hook at each end. Straps are sold individually, not as a pair.
How much can it hold?
Use the working load limit printed on the strap label and stay under it — never rate a tie-down by what it looks like it can take. As a rule, spread the load across at least two straps and add more for anything tall, round or free to shift.
How does the retract work?
Hook both ends, pull the webbing out to length, then ratchet down until the load sits firm. Press the release and the spool draws the loose tail back into the housing. To pack up, press again and let it reel all the way in.
Will it mark my paint?
The S-hooks are coated to protect the anchor point, but the webbing itself can still rub on a painted edge under vibration. Run a cloth or a rubber pad under the strap where it crosses bodywork on a long trip.
Can I leave it outside?
It handles rain and road spray fine, but let it dry before you retract it — winding wet, gritty webbing into the housing is what wears a spool out early. Rinse off salt and mud after coastal or winter trips.
