A drying line that disappears when you're done
Pull the line across the room, clip it in, hang your washing. When the load is dry, release the lock and the whole line winds back into a slim box on the wall. No frame in the middle of your bathroom. No rack to store.
Why it beats a drying rack
It uses the air, not the floor
A floor rack eats a square metre of a room you were already short on, and it lives somewhere the rest of the week. This mounts once, high on the wall, and gives you the same hanging length across dead air.
Hangers sit straight on the line, so shirts dry on the hanger they'll be stored on.
Two parts, one motion
Lock to hold. Release to rewind.
One knob does everything. Turn it to lock the line under tension while you load it up. Turn it back and the spool takes the line home on its own — no winding by hand, no slack rope on the floor.
The far end seats into a Y-shaped slot on the opposite wall plate. The wire drops into the throat of the Y and the taper holds it, so a heavy load pulls it tighter rather than loose.
The part that matters
Braided 304 stainless, sleeved
The line is braided 304 stainless steel wire rope under a smooth outer sleeve. Braided steel does not stretch and sag the way a nylon cord does after a few wet loads.
The sleeve is what touches your clothes — it keeps damp fabric off bare metal and resists the two things that kill a washing line: constant moisture and UV.

What is in the box?
The reel housing with the lock knob, and the wall plate with the Y-shaped receiving slot that the line clips into. You mount the housing on one wall and the plate on the wall opposite.
How much washing can it hold?
Treat it as a line for a normal household load — shirts, tops, underwear, light bedding. It is a steel line on a spool, not a structural beam: do not hang soaking-wet heavy blankets or use it as a pull-up bar. Any washing line will sag in the middle under load; mount it a little higher than feels necessary.
What kind of wall does it need?
Both ends carry the full tension of a loaded line, so fix into something solid — masonry, tile over masonry, or a stud. Plasterboard on its own is not enough without proper anchors. If you rent and cannot drill, this is not the right product for you.
Can I use it outdoors?
The line is sleeved against moisture and sun, which is what makes a covered balcony fine. Fully exposed to weather year-round is harder on any retracting mechanism — under cover will last longer.
Will the line rewind dirty?
Wipe the line with a dry cloth as you retract it the first few times. Anything you wind in wet stays wet inside the housing, so let it retract dry where you can.
