Touchless sensor dispenser

Nobody touches the pump with raw-chicken hands.

The soap pump is the one thing in the kitchen everybody touches on the way to washing their hands. Same in the bathroom, same after the bins, same after the garden. This one you never touch: hold your palm under the nozzle and an infrared sensor doses the soap for you. It charges by USB, so there is no cable trailing across the counter and no batteries to keep buying.

Pick one before you order

Foam or liquid — they are not interchangeable

Foam. The pump whips air into the soap and gives you a light lather. It needs diluted soap: one part soap to three parts water, mixed before you fill it. Undiluted soap is too thick for the foam mechanism and will clog it.

Liquid soap. Dispenses soap the way it comes out of the bottle — no diluting, no mixing. This is the one to pick for dish soap, hand soap you like the feel of, or anything you would rather not water down.

Water running over the dispenser body

On a wet counter

Splashes are fine. Submerging it is not.

It lives next to a tap, so it gets wet. The manufacturer rates the body IPX5 — that is their figure, not a test we have run — which covers splashing and a rinse under a running tap. It does not mean waterproof: do not put it in the sink, in the dishwasher, or under the shower.

The housing is ABS plastic, and the whole unit weighs about 380 g (13 oz) full, so it stays put when you press a hand under it rather than sliding across the worktop.

First five minutes

Set it up in this order, or it will look broken

1. Charge it fully before the first use. It arrives part-charged at most. Give it a full USB charge before you fill it.

2. Fill it. Foam version: mix 1 part soap to 3 parts water first. Liquid version: pour the soap straight in.

3. Hold the power button for 2 seconds. A quick tap does nothing — it needs the two-second hold to wake up.

4. Wave your hand under it three or four times and expect nothing. There is air in the pump from the factory. It has to push that through before soap appears. This is the single most common reason people think the unit is faulty on day one — it is not, it is priming.

Good to know

Questions people ask

It arrived and nothing comes out. Is it broken?

Almost certainly not. Two things cause this. First, it ships part-charged — put it on USB until it is full. Second, there is air in the pump from the factory, and it needs three or four passes of your hand to clear it before soap appears. If it is charged, filled, switched on with a two-second button hold, and still dry after six or seven tries, email us.

Can I put dish soap in it?

Yes — pick the Liquid soap version for that. Dish soap is thick, and the foam version wants it thinned 1:3 with water, which most people do not want to do with washing-up liquid.

Do I really have to dilute the soap in the foam version?

Yes. Foam pumps work by pushing soap and air through a fine mesh, and neat soap is too viscous to pass through it. Filling a foam unit with undiluted soap is the usual way these get clogged. One part soap, three parts water, shaken in a jug first.

Can it be mounted on the wall?

It is designed to stand on a surface. No bracket, screws or adhesive plate come with it, so treat it as a countertop unit.

Can I switch it from foam to liquid later?

No. They are two different pumps in the same shell, and you choose which one you are buying at checkout. If you want one of each — kitchen and bathroom — add both to the cart.

Will it trigger on its own?

Infrared sensors respond to anything that reflects into them, so keep the nozzle clear of a towel, a bottle or the edge of the sink. If it dispenses at random, something is sitting in the sensor's line of sight.

How do I clean it?

Wipe the outside with a damp cloth. If you change soap type, run warm water through the reservoir and dispense until it comes out clear, so the old soap does not sit and thicken in the pump. Do not submerge it.

Is there an English manual in the box?

This is a factory product printed for its home market, so assume the leaflet is not in English. Everything you need to set it up is on this page — that is why the four steps above are spelled out.
